Lorena Nolte´s participation as part of INBAR-USS agreement was aimed to strength the skills of the students at the Architecture Faculty about bamboo construction in specific areas in the Region. Achieving beyond this, with her dynamics and her contributions, she raised the sensibilities and awareness among the participants about natural materials and it ́s potential in Sustainable Architecture and C. C. Mitigation.
The best part about working with Lorena is that she has a methodology that allows projects to be done very quickly and high impact. Lorena cares about having a clear and powerful concept that makes everything revolve around it. Working with her is a delight because you experience the entire process.
The potential of Bamboo was practically unknown in Peru, and thanks to INBAR and the support of the EU it was possible to make that real! Lorena's participation was vital as an architetct and coordinator since it was a project to promote the correct application of bamboo in construction with a clear approach to climate change adaptation. Lorena´s professionalism, her aproach to Piura City and charisma allowed to go beyond what was described in the project, a clear advocacy role allowed to regulate and obtain standards for construction with bamboo. She gave the project the closeness to the vulnerable to climate change.
Lorena´s involvement, as an architect and member of INBAR was always to achieve the project´s goals, a subject she knows well and works enthusiastically; From cultivation of bamboo with the group of producers to the architectural design and handicrafts, to the strengthening of local and national Institutions.
Lorena Nolte was my teacher in the subject of Artistic and Space Expression at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. Her expertise in the subject is very extensive, but what I emphasize most is, without a doubt, her patience, passion and dedication to what she does.
Lorena Nolte did the remodeling of the 3 bathrooms and the design of our bedroom, showing great creativity, modernity and good taste. At all times she took her work seriously and she knew how to capture our wants and interests which we see daily in her details, colors and designs. She did an impeccable job.
